Gossiping
Is Dangerous….. Protect Yourself
The Word of God says in the book of Romans that
gossips are ruthless murderers filled with strife. “ROM 1:29  They have become filled
with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of
envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,30  slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant
and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;
31  they are senseless, faithless,
heartless, ruthless”

When we gossip we actively and voluntarily engage in destructive character
assassination and theft. Gossip is a destructive need for personal
gratification by making one’s self feel good about one’s self by destroying the
character and reputation of another. The gossip is sometimes a busy body but
oftentimes he amasses his reservoir of knowledge by assimilating himself into
positions of trust where personal information is discussed.

The word of God says in “PRO
26:20  Without wood a fire goes out;
without gossip a quarrel dies down”

 If you participate in the gossip you also
participate in the sin.
When you hear someone gossip to you about
another person maliciously, the best thing you can do is let it go no further. If
you sit there and listen with or without comment you are a participant. Change
the subject of the conversation and just keep what you heard to yourself. Paul
even suggests in the book of II Thessalonians that you remove that person from
your life that they not cause you to fall..

Gossip stands in sharp contrast to the love and
hospitality that marks the life of a believer.
