Say Thank You

17 Aug

1TH 5:18  In every thing give
thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

We teach our children to, “ Say thank you”, when somebody does something for them. However, adults sometimes forget to say thank you to God. We can not compensate God for His benefits so the least that we can do is acknowledge that He has blessed us by saying thank you. The word says to thank God for everything that He does for us.

One of the biggest problems that God had with the Israelites in the wilderness was that they murmured, were unthankful for what He had done. He brought them out of captivity, put miracle food in their stomach and miracle shoes on their feet but they murmured instead of saying thank you. They hadn’t learned the value of the ups and the downs. You don’t appreciate the mountain if you never go to the valley. So even when we walk through the valley we should still say thank you.

PSA 50:14  Offer unto God
thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High

The word of God says in Psalms 68:19 that daily He loads us with benefits. Develop an attitude of gratitude. Give unto God the fruit of your lips by praising Him for what He does. Start thanking God for everything. Even when you don’t understand why He did something thank Him anyway.  Then, start a new tradition in your life. Let God know that you trust Him by thanking Him for what you see and thanking Him for what He promised even before it manifests.

An attitude of gratitude allows you to live grounded on the promises of God.

Whether the cupboard is full or empty say, “Lord I thank you because I seek you and all these things will be added.”

If you are sick say, “Thank you because I know you sent your word and with your word I am healed.”

If the check book is empty say,  “Thank you because I know you have given me the power to get wealth. Thank you Lord. I have given you will give to me good measure pressed down and shaken together.”

If the enemy comes to take your life still say, “Thank you because you said that you would rise up standards, weapons would form but they could not prosper.”

PSA 136:1  O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good:
for his mercy endureth for ever.
